Character Notes/Origin/Personality: Astra's life is a mystery, even to her.

Her first memory is falling through the sky, several miles up in the air.  Fortunately for her, she quickly learned that she could fly.  In fairly short order, she discovered that she had a number of other superhuman abilities, as well.  While flying through the air over a major metropolitan city, trying in vain to remember who she was, she encountered a bank robbery in progress. More by reflex that conscious decision, she used her still-untested abilities to quickly capture the criminals.  Due to the appearance of her costume, the next day she discovered that the local newspaper, in lieu of being given an actual superhero name, had chosen to dub her 'Astra'.

A few months later, she now knows little more that she did on that first day when she 'awoke' several miles up in the air.  At night, she occasionally dreams of being an astronaut, but in these dreams she and her companions are in a ship near the moons of Jupiter, so obviously that can't be correct (can it?).  She appears to be highly knowledgeable of various sciences and high-tech equipment, but sometimes basic everyday technology will stymie her (especially the social implications and uses thereof).  She also seems to have a rough understanding of modern society in its broadest strokes, but much of day-to-day minutiae and trivia eludes her.

Campaign Use: An ally with a mystery that perhaps the PCs can help to solve.  Alternatively, the PCs might approach her concerning some piece of high-tech equipment that they've acquired and don't understand.  She might have been taken in by a friendly supergroup (or possibly CHESS), or she may simply be wandering the globe, searching for clues to her true identity.

  1. That is pretty awesome!

I also have a supers character named Astra, but the world knows her better as Justice.

Great start to the A to Z challenge!

  2. It has been decades since I was last involved in a V&V game. Now that V&V is being revived it might be fun to try it out all over again. This Astra character looks interesting. I particularly like the Campaign Use suggestion you included. Good idea.

Your version has the advantage of having a picture (nice art, by the way). Me, I can barely draw a stick figure, so that's why I just go with a verbal description.

And thanks to both of you for the kind words.
